RevolutionMoneyExchange: Earn $25 when you sign up

Refer A Friend using Revolution Money Exchange
I've been seeing a lot of talk around the blogosphere about RevolutionMoneyExchange and how you can earn $25 for signing up for an account. I'm usually someone who blows off things like this as "too good to be true" but after being repeatedly encouraged to sign up and try it out myself, I did just that today.

It was a simple 5-minute sign-up process and I now have $25 showing up in my account. I am not sure how this company is affording to hand out $25 like this to everyone, but it's worth signing up for if you have a few minutes and could use $25. Go here to read more and sign up.

They also have a referral program which allows you to refer others and receive $10 per referral (up to $500).

If anyone has experience with RevolutionMoneyExchange (good or bad) and would like to share with us, please do.

Positive feedback for RME. I signed up, and cashed out my $25. No problems at all. (Now I'm going to have my husband open one with our other account.)

I imagine they can "afford" to do it because it's cheaper (and more effective) than a marketing campaign, and a lot of people are ready for an alternative to paypal. If tons of people like us sign up, we may actually start using it, and giving paypal the old heave-ho. Getting people to set up the account in the first place is the biggest hurdle, I imagine.

Super Easy! I tried RME last month and chose to receive my $25 sent to me in a check which came a few days later! I posted about it here with pictures of my checks!

Hmmm, I was heading over to sign up, and made it almost all the way through but then it asked for my SSN and I don't feel comfortable giving that out. I mean- couldn't they be paying you $25 to get private info? Don't mean to be paranoid. I decided not to sign up since I have an issue with it (but the $25 is still tempting!)

Did you feel strange giving your SSN to the site? That's as far as I got and stopped. I'm assuming bank info is also needed? Just not sure I'm ready to spill my guts as I've had bank fraud done to me and it isn't fun... not worth $25. I'll be glad to see the results of this and to see if everyone is happy with the service they provide. Best wishes!

I have positive feedback. I signed up, got my money and already spent it.

They are trying to get everyone to switch to them from paypal to avoid the fees.

Thanks Crystal for this post. I have seen this on other blogs but I was a little unsure if it was a honest thing or not. I was hoping that you would mention it. I am planning on signing up too. Thanks so much for your blog I really appreciate it. God bless

In full disclosure, are you going to make that $500 by linking us all there? I'd rather know ahead of clicking that it is for you....I don't mind referrals, just wanted to know.

Both my husband and I have signed up for and received our money. This was an especially nice offer since it was so effortless to participate in. And so beneficial!

WEll, I just signed up and I didn't get $25. I filled in all of my info but it said that they didn't have enough info for my acct. and would send me an e-mail later.
This is a financial site so remember that you have to give out your SS#.

Sommer said...

Hmmm... I just went and created an account and it doesn't show that I received the $25. Did you have to do anything after opening the account to get it? Or did it take a while before it showed up?

Thanks again for all of your great tips and tricks for saving $$!

Helen: I used my affiliate links in the post, of course. :) Like always, I tried it myself first and felt it was worth mentioning.

And if you don't want to use my referral link, you're welcome to just go to the main site and sign up. :)

Edwena said...

I signed up using your link of course :) but there's nothing in my account. Just wondering if it takes awhile to show up.

I think it may have taken 5-10 minutes for the money to show up. I got an email notification and then I had to click on a link to accept it.

Joan said...

I signed up, and I used the affiliate section - shoot, it's the least I can do considering how much I use the MoneySavingMoms information! To receive your money, go into the MY ACCOUNT and look down and you'll see the word ACCEPT. You have to click on that to have the $25 added to your account. Deadline for signing up is 04/15 by the way! Also, I did research on the parent company - First Bank & Trust of Brookings, SD. FDIC insured, 8 branches, looks legit to me!

Katie said...

FYI, I saw this at the bottom...

Your account will be credited within 24 hours of opening

Enjoy $10 - I'll enjoy all the savings tips and freebie links you continue to provide :)

I have been recommending this site for about a month because:

1. I want the referall money
2. I want to get away from Paypal.
3. Paypal charges fees when you make a sale, but not RevolutionMoney.
4. They now have a buy it now button you can place on your website for selling.

Revolutionmoney is an actual bank with FDIC insurance. It was started by a former CEO of AOL.

Helen said...

Thanks Crystal! I just feel better knowing. I'll use your referral. We'll see what you do with the extra cash ;) You've been helping me a lot with the Walgreens tips!

Kristen said...

I signed up and sent out some referrals to my dear siblings. lol The social security number gave me pause, but I had to give mine to Paypal too, you know?

S.B. said...

I have positive feedback. This site is great!

I did a post about this on my blog and linked to the articles where they were featured in major newspapers. They are legit.

Sandi said...

It worked for me, you do not have to give your bank account info. You can also have a check sent. As far as giving your SS#, the ones who want to be criminal have their own ways of finding this info, not so upfront. And Crystal, I hope you receive the full $500.00. Your work on this site alone is well worth it.

Shelly said...

Since 9/11 all bank account are required to have a SSN attached to them.

Here is a legal forum discussing that issue.

I just completed the process and chose to have them send me a check. There's a $2.50 fee for this, so I said I wanted the check to be for $22.50. Between the check and the fee, it came out to the full $25. Thanks, Crystal!

Tammy L said...

Cool! :)

I'll ask Joshua before I sign up though. He's the one who takes care of all the money/bank stuff like that. :)

As a note to Helen, or others who may be interested -- if you hover over the link Crystal provided in her post, you can see that the link is an affiliate link and not a direct link to the main site page. So if you're ever curious in the future, you can just look to see if the link looks like an affiliate link. :)

Me, I'm more than happy to send $10 Crystal's way (though she'll easily have 50 people taking her up on this offer before I get to it!). :) We all frequent this blog because she does such a great job on it, you know... :)

I'm just wondering if you can use this account to pay for many things that you use PayPal to pay for. Can you use it to pay for things on ebay? I would assume the seller would have to be a member also. Does anyonge know if ebay is allowing this as a form of payment?

SimpleMommy said...

I signed up, too. The $25 is already showing up. :)

Thanks!

Jennie said...

I've already signed up, had the $25 credited to me immediately. Plus, I have a few $10 referrals already too.

Michael & Sandra Herriage said...

I signed up as well using your affiliate link. It is the least I can do since you have given me so many great tips.

that is very tempting. but I;m too nervous to give them my SS#

another revolution card deal is to go to buy.com and they will give you $50 off your order of $51 or more. :)

Crystal- First thank you for all that you do. My husband is very appreciative too.

I started to fill out the info on this and I too got a funny feeling in my stomach. It might be legit, but my mommy gut says no way.

You also got me turned onto Dave Ramsey and my family is really starting to turn our finances around. This sounds like one of those "deals" that Dave says aren't worth it.

Enjoy your $25 though. I hope you use it for something fun. I'll be glad to be a referral for you for something else. After all you do so much good on this blog.

Andrea said...

I've been using this as well. I wrote a post about it on my blog also. They are completely legit!

I tried to leave this comment a couple times last night, but I don't think it went through - so here's trying again:
This is totally unrelated to RME, but I wanted to let you know, in case you don't already: On April 29, Ben & Jerry's will have its annual FREE ICE CREAM DAY! Yippee! My family goes every year and we love to go back through the line several times, until we're stuffed with ice cream and can't stomach any more. (There's no limit to how many times you go through the line - at least not in our area!) I can't find any info on the Ben & Jerry's website, but here's what slickdeals has to say: http://forums.slickdeals.net/showthread.php?t=779924
Anyway, just thought it might be worth a mention!

Hi Crystal,

I signed up using your link and now I am telling my friends about it. We have a huge local book sale coming up soon and this is a great way to get some spending money for that. $25 can sure buy a lot of used books and movies.

Thanks for all you do and for all the CVS EBCs you have earned me.

I just dealt with our bank account getting breached this past week, with someone spending a lot of money. It is getting fixed now but not a fun thing to go through. I am being much more careful giving out any of my info. $25 isn't worth it.

Anonymous said...

I signed up too.Worked great and the $25 showed up right away! Thanks so much for all the hard work you do on this blog.

I love RME. I have been using it for awhile and post about it often. I have actually been paid thru this site when someone made purchase from me, and the transaction went through smoothly.

Dang! I am unable to use my US post office box in my profile and it doesn't seem to have a Canadian spot so I can't sign up, but I tried!

Cat said...

Are there actually places where you can "spend" this $25 yet other than individuals, or is it just in the "someday" stages?

Kingdom First Mom said...

I love RME!! I have personally received $35 in my checking account to use as I please from RME.

You do have to complete the entire verification process before you receive your money, so it does take a few days.

I added a button for it on my blog. I was skeptical too, at first, but I am thankful for the extra money. I would definitely encourage all readers to sign up for it.

Shannon said...

Thanks for posting this Crystal! I had read about them on another site but since I didn't know the person very well I didn't act on it. Your endorsement convinced me though and I signed up today and got my $25! Hopefully the friends I invited will sign up soon! Thanks for all you do.

I actually clicked your referral link and signed up.

I was shocked to see at the bottom of my accounts page:

Account issued by First Bank & Trust, Brookings, SD, Member FDIC and part of the Fishback Financial Corporation.

I actually work at this bank. Although I had no idea the program existed until now, I would highly doubt it would be likely to be a scam. FBT is a very reputable bank that's located throughout Eastern South Dakota, with one location in Minnesota as well. They're locally owned. The grandson of the man that started the bank (in 1925) also happens to be my landlord and is a nice guy. If you're looking for more information about the bank, you can visit http://www.bankeasy.com

Goodness it's a small world.

I was wary of this site and of giving my SSN - then I read this article in USA Today: http://www.usatoday.com/tech/techinvestor/corporatenews/2007-11-06-ted-leonis-steve-case_N.htm

Totally legit - and I've made $45 so far!

They ask for you SS# b/c you WILL get 1099 or whatever they are called, in the mail next Jan 31. It is just like singing up for a new bank acct when they give you $25.

Michael & Sandra Herriage said...

Everyone,

I'm very excited about this as well. I'm now up to $120 earned through both my husband and my account.

I do want to tip you off to something my mom found. If you go under "Help" on their website, on the bottom left you will see privacy policy. Click on that and it will pull up the whole three pages of privacy details. At the end, there is an opt out section that you have to print and mail in if you want to opt out of the following: their sharing your non-public information with nonaffiliated third parties, with their affiliates, and their using information to market their products and services.

Much of the information you give them is public, so you can bet that I'm sending it in to protect the non-public information I shared with them. I would recommend checking it out. The junk mail piles could be endless...

I chose not so sign up for this because I heard a few horror stories. One woman claimed her credit was checked over 27 times. After doing some research, I found this link. This is a blog run by a lawyer. She went through the fine print and explains why she did not sign up for RME, either.

I just wanted to come back and confirm that I received my check yesterday and will deposit today. I'm going to send in the "opt-out" of sharing personal info in, but I'm also going to maintain my account for now. PayPal could definitely use some competition!

Someone want to send me a referral? I know that you can max out at $500 something dollars, so I would love to get someone that needs the $10 still. How to do this? PS. my blog is www.butterflyerin@blogspot.com
