1 Listerine Smart Rinse $3.49

- $1 Smart Rinse
(hoping Oral B coupon exp. 5/31 will work??)
- $9.00 ECBs to use
$1.38 OOP if Oral B Q works
$2.19 OOP if Oral B Q does not work
$14.46 ECBs earned!

I'm still fairly new!

I think the Pantene coupon is from the 6/01 insert, not the 6/10 :)
I'm a recent homeschool graduate who started reading your blog a few months ago. I'm stocking up on toiletries and such to cut my expenses during college. Thanks for all the great tips!

Posted by: fustuche | June 01, 2008 at 05:57 AM
The Chex deal must be regional (sigh). My circular (in Los Angeles) says 2/$3.
Posted by: Chief Family Officer | June 01, 2008 at 08:21 AM
I am in the north GA area of Alpharetta and each paper i got today had NO PG's in them. Has anyone else had this issue? has this happened before? i called the AJC and they are getting back to me on this. I do buy 6 papers so this is a substantial bit to be missing....
Thanks!!

Where do I find the 3/15 4/20 coupons? Is there a CVS coupon book? Or does it print off with ECBS at the end of receipts?
Posted by: Stacey | June 01, 2008 at 09:40 AM
I purchased 2 boxes of the cvs bandages today and on my reciept it still says I have not reached my limit. It shows I've purchased 2 but need 1 more towards the limit. So this must not be a limit of 2 like the monthly deals book says. Anyone know what the limit really is?
Posted by: Tiffany | June 01, 2008 at 09:48 AM
There is also a $1 off Brut coupon in All You July magazine on pg. 57. Just thought I would share!
Thanks for all the tips!

Actually it's the June issue of All You. It just looks all decked out for the 4th of July. (Issue 6 June 27, 2008)

$30 moneymaker deal.
Ascensia Breeze Blood Glucode Monitoring System, on sale at CVS this week for $30.
$30 off coupon in the 6/1 insert.
There is a rebate form inside the box good for up to $40 of the purchase price.
Posted by: FishFace | June 01, 2008 at 12:03 PM
Just thought I would let everyone know...I used the $3.00 off 2 Huggies Clean Team coupon for the Huggies baby wash this morning and it worked perfectly fine. So you could get two baby washes for free this week after ECB's.

Thank you for posting these deals so quickly. I love looking at them on Sunday afternoon. I also really like the format you wrote them in. All the scenarios really help me out. Thanks!

I put my name in the "link" spot by mistake! (Sorry!) Here's an idea for a money-maker if you're willing to put out the cash first. Buy 2 American Express prepaid gift cards for $50 each, use $3/$15 (or any other you have) and get $5 ECBs back. OOP cost = $97 so it's an investment. But I could easily use those gift cards to pay for groceries for a couple of weeks. Or, I might use one to purchase some smaller-denomination gift cards for end-of-year teacher gifts for a couple of very special teachers. (I usually make gifts for most of them, but my son has special needs and when there's a particularly wonderful teacher I like to give something extra.)
Hmmm.... I wonder if you could use the first 2 cards to purchase 2 more...? Buy 2 more cards, plus a Smart Rinse = 103.49, use $3/15, pay with the 2-$50 cards plus $.49 OOP, get $5 more ECBs?? Somehow this doesn't feel right -- what do you think?

I just bought two of the Listerine Smart Rinses's today (Sunday June 1) and I got back the right ecbs--however, my reciept is not showing "Offer limit Reached"--looks like the limit might be 3 not 2??? Didn't this happen last month with some other monthly free product?? The limit was said to be 2 but ended up being 5? Just thought I would share!

I was mailed a $3 off 2 washes from Huggies (signed up for their newsletter) making the wash FREE with ECB. Everyone should check their mailboxes. =)

My P&G insert had coupons for specific Pantene products, new ones, I think. Well, my CVS didn't have any of those products....oh well.

Here is how my trip went(6/1)
2 chex mix@$2.00-used 2 1$ coupons
Gilette Fusion@9.99-used $4 coupon(recv'd $4ECB)
2 Listerine Smart rinse@$6.98-used 2 $1 coupons(recv'd $6.98ECB)
Also used a 3/15 coupon and $7.98ECB but recv'd a total of $10.98ECB back.All said and done I ended up $3ECB!

I noticed that in some of your scenarios you are using more than one of the same coupon (i.e. the Dawn 25 cent coupon). How do you get these multiple coupons---do you buy multiple copies of the Sunday paper?
Posted by: Amy | June 01, 2008 at 04:28 PM
Question on the $3/$15 -- my free Washington Post trial subscription expired and I can't find the link for a free trial for my hubby -- can anyone help?
fustuche: The "P&G insert" is a coupon insert in the Sunday paper. It says "P&GbrandSAVER" on the front with a picture of a guy with his daughter (eating watermelon, yum). From other posts it looks as though some people didn't get it. Also, with inserts, I've found that sometimes coupons appear in one area of the country but not another, was a bummer a couple of weeks ago for me. But Crystal keeps us happy with lots of alternatives!
Amy: Yes, I (and others) buy multiple papers if it saves us money (ie, savings from coupons is more than cost of paper).
Question: Does anyone know if the Huggies "bath & body products" coupon will work on the Huggies Cleanteam soaps?
thanks, Karen
Posted by: Cole & Lia's mom | June 01, 2008 at 05:35 PM
My CVS is not including the product which the pantene coupons were for in the insert on 6/1. Just a heads up in case others may run into the same situation.
Also the cashier told me today that they were told that ecbs are now considered "coupons" so they are not supposed to take the $/$ coupons if you are paying with ECBS...could be a heads up for the future...He did let me use both today.
Crystal here: Thanks, Ruth. Each store can make their own rules (within reason) regarding accepting CVS coupons so it sounds like perhaps that particular store might be changing their rules. However, it will vary from store to store.
Posted by: ruth | June 01, 2008 at 05:42 PM
Bernadette,
Please tell us what the AJC says! I live in SE TN but buy the AJC because the local paper doesn't have good coupons. I got SS and RP but no P&G! I am curious if we are supposed to be getting them next week, or what?
Posted by: Heather | June 01, 2008 at 05:59 PM
hello,
Just thought I would mention the Amex prepaid gift cards (and any prepaid Cash type card all have activation fees of at least $4.95 each -- some are as high as 9.99 just to activate each card! So there goes making money on one of those deals. Darn.

Hi, I first just want to say thanks for providing this blog. A friend told me about it in January and I've been saving money ever since!
I had something unusual occur with CVS today. I've been doing this since January, and my CVS ads/deals were always the same as everywhere else. Today the ad and the deals were very different from those posted on here and other places on the web. Did this happen to anyone else? (I'm in the Pittsburgh area.)
One more question: where does everyone get their Sunday papers? I pick one up at the grocery store for $1.50 each week. Is there a way to get them at a discount? Also, are you allowed to have multiple papers delivered to the same address?
Thanks!
Posted by: Jane | June 01, 2008 at 07:17 PM
I purchased 2 band aids and it said offer limit not reached yet... SO YA we can get 3+!
Posted by: Tatiana | June 01, 2008 at 07:20 PM
ugh- my store is already out of the Listerine rinse- hope they get some more in!
I did really well today- only spent 50 cents out of pocket- even the cashier remarked! thanks Crystal!
Posted by: Jan | June 01, 2008 at 07:21 PM
I bought the AJC on Saturday and got no P&G coupons, but the paper that got delivered on Sunday morning contained them. I am going to call and find out what happened, too.
Posted by: EmilyV | June 01, 2008 at 07:45 PM
I already ate my free chex mix!! Anyway, my Kroger has Cascadian Farms frozen potatoes (tator tots, french fries, etc) on sale this week for 2/$4. I used 3 of my $1 off coupons good for any CF item and paid $1 each for my frozen items. Also on sale are the frozen soy beans (edamame, anyone?) for $1.67 a pack. So those would be even cheaper with your coupon.
Posted by: sarah | June 01, 2008 at 08:23 PM
AJC states that home subscribers get all the coupons first and that they do not know what happened with the PG inserts for the retail locations this week. I called them twice and the second time around, they resolved it by stating someone would be out to deliver them to me in the morning. I will post and let you know if they keep their word. PLEASE call the AJC and let them know you didnt get yours. The rep said i was not the only one calling. She was very apologetic. I purchase 6 papers when there will be three booklets and 4 on a normal regular sunday. This helps me stockpile and get items at lowest possible price.

I have to say "Thank You". I was a newbie just a few short weeks ago, but I have learned so much from your site that I am happy to say I have become very good at CVSing. I got so much free stuff through CVS, Target, Walmart and just free stuff in general, that I'm starting to wonder where I am going to put it all! Thanks!!

This site is SO amazing!!! You have helped save me SO much money just in three months!! All you ladies...and men (maybe) have inspired me to create a blog and use it so I can post my deals and all!! Please feel free to go by and check it out... I am still learning though so remember that!!!

where do you get the $3/$15 coupons for CVS????
Posted by: jessica | June 01, 2008 at 09:48 PM
Warning on the Breeze Glucose Monitor $30 "moneymaker:" I read that they will only rebate you up to the amount you actually paid. So if you didn't pay anything for the monitor due to the coupon, you wouldn't get the rebate. The monitor would still be free with the $30 coupon, but it wouldn't be a moneymaker.
I don't know if that's true, but I did read it. It was on Slickdeals somewhere.
Posted by: Amy | June 01, 2008 at 10:16 PM
You can get a Sunday paper at the dollar store - that will save you a little money.
Posted by: S.B. | June 02, 2008 at 05:59 AM
I don't know if someone already posted this, but the $1.50 Pantene coupons in the paper are not for the products in the Pantene ecb deal this week. At least not in my store.
Posted by: Nanette | June 02, 2008 at 06:30 AM
To Trixie: Yes, my ad was totally different...I am in NE Ohio. I actually wonder if CVS is trying a new type of ad in some specific regions? Lots of deals were quite different. :-)
Posted by: Carly | June 02, 2008 at 07:23 AM
Hi Crystal,
I am just starting the drugstore game and wondering where you get all of the coupons that are not printed online? Are they from a Sunday newspaper or other source? Just wondering if there is a cheap and simple way to obtain more coupons. :)
Thanks!!
Rachel
Posted by: Rachel | June 02, 2008 at 08:16 AM
Hello all- apparently the Ohio ad was different this Sunday because CVS is doing a test market for their Sunday ad. They sent me a detailed Survey (CVS advisory panel) asking me to compare the CVS ad to the Walgreens ad this week. Our CVS ad looks quite a bit different and we have less items on sale as far as I can tell. No Chex mix on sale here- but we have Tide for $3.99 after ECB. Our store just got a self-scanner though and every time I use it I get a $3/$15 CVS brand coupon!
Posted by: Jan | June 02, 2008 at 08:18 AM
I pulled the Pantene deal since it appears the coupons don't match up thus making it a pretty blah deal. If you *do* come up with any great way to work it, though, let us know!
Posted by: Money Saving Mom | June 02, 2008 at 08:38 AM
I went to 3 local CVS in Socal and none had the Oral B toothbrushes. =/
The cheapest priced Brut deordorants's are 3.19 or 3.39 that I found.
And if I'm not wrong, I found the 500ct Cotton Swabs here at 3.39. Prices may vary!
Thanks for the new coupon heads up!

Hello Crystal,
I had a great day at CVS yesterday, and thought I'd share in case it might help someone. My store takes expired coupons and allows you to use 2 $5/$15 Q's if total is over $30 (rather than 2 trans's). This really helped my scenarios!
Trans #1:
2 Listerine Smart Rinse @ $3.49 ($6.98) - 2/$1 Q's = $4.98 OOP (Q's online - see Moneysavingmom.com)
Oral B 2 Pk $6.99 - $1 Q = $5.99 OOP
2 CVS Bandaids @ $1.99 ($3.98) - $3/$10 CVS Brand = $.98 OOP
One-Touch Glucose Monitor @ $19.99 - $19.99 Q ($20 Q adjusted down) = $0 OOP
B4 Q's = $37.94
$11.99 - $5/$15 Q = $6.99 OOP
Used $6 ECB

ECB Earned $6.98 Listerene, $6.99 Oral B, $3.98 Bandaids, $5 Glucose Monitor = $22.95
Trans #2:
3 Pantene @ 3/$10 - 3/$2 Q's = $4 OOP (Q's were on iheartcvs website and in Reinventing Beauty mag)
Febreze 2/$5 - 2 BOGO Q's = FREE
Febreze 2 @ $3.99 ($7.98) - 2/$.50 Q's = $6.98 OOP

2 Brut Deoderant @ $2.89 ($5.78) - 2/$1 Q's = $3.78 OOP
Total B4 Q's = $30.78
Minus Q's: - $5/$15 - $5/$15 - $6 - $5 - $1 - $1 - $2 = $5.78 New Total

CVS Bandaids $1.99
Brut Deoderant $2.89 - $1 Q = $1.89
One-Touch Glucose Meter @ $19.99 - $19.99 Q = FREE
Potting Soil $5.99

I am a newbie, made my third trip today, spent a little over $10 oop and received over $10 in ECB. But I made my first big boo-boo, bought the wrong Gillette razor. Be sure to buy the Schick "Phenom" Fusion Razor, not just the Schick Fusion Razor. My mistake. Not sure if I should return. Still had a $4 coupon to make it $5.99, but did not get my $4 ECB.

I used the Pantene coupons this morning to get three of the shampoo varieties that they did have - should I go back and try to fix it at CVS? I don't know if they have a way to do that or not, but I guess I shouldn't have used that coupon. Thanks!
Posted by: Sarah | June 02, 2008 at 03:06 PM
To use up my CVS $3/10 I did:
(3) CVS bandages @1.99 = 5.97
(1) CVS swabs = 3.19 (found a 500 count w/a free 50 count travel pack attached)
(1) CVS wipes (filler) = .99
Total before Qs: $10.15
Used $3/10 CVS Q
Used $5.98 ECBs
Subtotal $1.17 + .09 tax = $1.26 OOP
ECBs earned: $5.97 (bandages) and $2 (swabs)
