CVS: A few updates
It is being reported that the CVS bandages (June monthly deal) are actually a limit of 3 not a limit of 2 as advertised. Let us know if you try this and it works for you.
Donna also commented and said she bought two of the Listerine for Kids (June monthly deal) and her receipt didn't say she'd reached her limit. So it is possible this is also a limit of 3, not 2, as advertised. Again, let us know if you try it and it works.
Glade Air Fresheners are on sale for $0.88 this week. You can get them free using the $1/1 coupons which were in the April All You magazine or in the coupon booklets in May Country Living magazines. I've also seen these in a few other magazines.
There are reports of some CVS stores having boxes of Malt-O-Meal cereal in a special display or endcap for $1 each. Use this $1/1 coupon here and get them free.

Something is definately up with the bandaids. I bought 1 sheer and 1 plastic and my limit has not been reached yet.
However, I did get 2 of the Listerine and it does say the limit has been reached. I can't wait to go back and work the TP/paper towel deal!

I did the Listerine deal yesterday - bought 2 - and my receipt says I've completed the offer.

I'm in Michigan, and my CVS issued EB on 3 boxes of bandaids.

I purchased 2 of the Listerine for Kids yesterday. My receipt shows that I have reached my limit. I'm in Dayton, OH.

The bandaids are a limit of 3. I bought 3 thinking that was the limit and got ECB's for all 3. The receipt now says limit reached.
Posted by: Coral | June 02, 2008 at 09:04 AM
For the bandages, I do show on my reciept that I could have bought 3 for the limit--I only bought 2 and it lists that I can have one more. On the listerine, it does say offer limit reached at 2.
Posted by: Jami | June 02, 2008 at 09:14 AM
I did several deals yesterday (getting the most I could out of the 5/15 before it expired!) and I can confirm that the bandages are limit 3. Hope that helps!
Posted by: Wendy | June 02, 2008 at 09:17 AM
I also bought 2 plastic bandaids, and it doesn't show limit reached. I do have limit reached on the Listerine after 2 purchases, though.
Posted by: Chris Sumpter | June 02, 2008 at 09:24 AM
Here too the bandaids are limit 3 and the Listerine is limit 2.

question: I received an e-mail for saavings on an online purchase. Are ECBs earned for online purchases? Just wondering. Thanks for your website. I read it daily.
Posted by: Deanna | June 02, 2008 at 09:56 AM
I bought three bandaids and got ECB's back for all three.
Posted by: Carrie | June 02, 2008 at 10:41 AM
Deanna,
You can't earn ECBs for online purchases, but you can REDEEM ECBs earned in-store for online purchases.

I'm in Massachusetts and my limit on listerine was 2. But I did find Huggies Shea Butter Lotion for 1.75 (half off), and it didn't print ECB's, but the manager said it qualified, so I got 2 ECB's for each one. Not to mention, I used the Huggies Clean Team $3/2 coupon and it worked fine. So lots of overage!

The Malt o Meal coupons are for different sizes and varieties than offerd at my CVS.
Posted by: Beky | June 02, 2008 at 11:35 AM
I bought 3 Charmin and 1 Bounty this morning for the 5 ECB on $20 purchase deal. After a $4/$20 coupon, three $1 Charmin coupons (6/1 PG), and one $1 Bounty coupon (6/1 PG), my total OOP was 13.98 (stupid sales tax!).
Note that my receipt indicated that the $20 Charmin/Bounty/Duracell purchase needed to only be $19.80 - not that it would have changed anything for me, but interesting to note.

I had the same thing in central florida: bandaids limit 3, listerine limit 2, both say limit reached.

I just found your blog about a week ago and I wanted to thank you for what you do. You're saving me so much money :)!!!! I love your CVS deals of the week- I printed it out today and took it with me to ensure that I got the best deals out there. You have another loyal reader!

I went into CVS this morning to buy the 2 American Express $50 gift cards, thinking I could use those for gas, and get the $5 coupon. NOT. There was a $4.95 activation charge for each card from Amex. I cancelled the transaction.

The Listerine is a limit of 2.
My store does not have Chex Mix on sale for $1, but it does have the Malt-o-Meal on sale for $1.
Posted by: Crystal | June 02, 2008 at 01:15 PM
This does not pertain to CVS, but to some Malt-o-Meal Cereals being on sale at Walmart (in a big cardboard display in front of the produce section). I live in Knoxville, TN, but it might be worth a look-see in other areas. Also, at Dollar General they have a rebate for $1 on 2 Lysol wipes. They are 2.50, but the cool thing is they have these specially bundled packages that are buy- one-get-one-free. Also there is a manufacturer's internet coupon for $1/2. I will attempt to link: www.HSNcoupons.com Basically, I got 4 canisters of 35 Lysol wipes for $5, used $1 off coupon, and will get $1 rebate. So final cost: $3 for 4. I think this can be done 3 times.

I have a question about CVS shopping in general. When there is a deal, such as the $ 10 ECB with the purchase of $ 20 of Bounty/Charmin products, does the $20 count before or after coupons?
Posted by: Ruth | June 02, 2008 at 01:27 PM
I'm in the KC area - it let me get 3 bandages and gave me 5.97 in ECB.
Posted by: Julie | June 02, 2008 at 02:27 PM
In Ohio- Duracell is not part of the Charmin/Bounty deal- bummer I have lots of Duracell coupons.
Posted by: Jan | June 02, 2008 at 03:42 PM
Ruth, the $20 is BEFORE coupons. :) So when I plan my trips I use a spreadsheet and try to get as close to my target as I can (a little over s ok, not under) -- THEN I subtract coupons, then I apply what I have for ECBs in hand, so as to spend as little as possible oop.
And someone posted on another thread that you only have to get 19.80 to qualify for the $10 ECBs, but I don't know personally -- I just got 2 Bounty and 2 Charmin.

Jan- I'm in Cincinnati and my flier included the duracell batteries as part of the Charmin/ Bounty deal.
Posted by: Emily | June 02, 2008 at 03:48 PM
In Troy, NY and have purchased two band aids and two mouthwash, the receipt says I only reached the limit on the mouthwash, I will try for another bandaid :)
Any know how long it takes for you receipt to print the $4/$20 etc.... I have been "CVS"ing for 2 weekes now!! Loving it!

This month, when you buy Huggies Lotion, Wash or 20ct washcloths, you get $2 Extra Care Bucks. If you use a $1 off coupon from the paper, it makes it $0.50 for each. A great deal. Plus, today, at my CVS, the washcloths were on clearance for $1.75 - so in the end, I come out ahead.

I bought 2 Sunday papers this past weekend and there was no P&G insert in either one. Did anyone else have this happen to them?
Posted by: Mike | June 02, 2008 at 06:23 PM
I did the Bounty, Charmin, Duracell deal. I ended up getting 2 Charmins and 1 16ct Duracell, and there was a 2.50 off coupon on the batteries.
Posted by: Shanda | June 02, 2008 at 07:03 PM
My recipt also printed out $19.80 for the bounty/charmin deal.
Posted by: jennifer | June 02, 2008 at 07:15 PM
SARAH: The one time I bought a paper at CVS in addition to using my neighbor's circulars, there was only 1/3 of the coupons my neighbors had gotten. I checked SEVERAL papers and they were all the same. I decided to sign up for the Sunday paper that day. :)

I was just looking through the pg brand saver and i came across $1.50 off any gillette fusion shaving cream. This coupon does not exclude the small trial size. This would be a great add on to make your cvs deals work out better!
Posted by: Michelle | June 02, 2008 at 07:33 PM
I bought two band aids & noticed that it didn't say offer limit reached & 1 needed for deal.
Posted by: Ginny | June 02, 2008 at 09:16 PM
Hey Crystal,
There is $1 off any Brut product in the June All You mag. At CVS they carry a deodrant for 3.19 and you get 3ECB'S back in the monthly savings flier. Thought you might want to pass that along. Have a grt wk. Thanks for helping me be a better home economist!!

I too notice that my receipt doesn't mention that bandage has reached the limit. So I will try it tonight. But the SmartRinse does say that it has reached the limit.
Also for GA CVS shopper, I found $0.99 for a floral bag that was normally $3.99. It's a good filler. The bag is small but can be a great gift bag for any occasion.

I had a fabulous morning at cvs! I went to do some shopping and found out that the limit on the listerine and oral b two packs is 3+! This is excellent! I bought three of each and still have not reached my limit! I am located in San Antonio, Tx so this might depend on location.

I'm still fairly new, so I wanted to check with the expert...well, expertS after reading the comments and see if this one works, since I didn't see it on here. On page 13 of this weeks ad, you can get the Ascensia Breeze 2 blood glucose meter for $30 with CVS card, and there is a $30 manufacturers mail-in rebate. I just found a $30 coupon in this week's Smart Source for the Ascensia Breeze 2. So could this be a $30 money making deal??

I bought 2 each of the sterile bandages and the Listerine mouthwashes and my receipt shows that I can buy one more of each. Im in Pittsburgh, PA. Also the Charmin, Bounty, Duracell deal is different in different places as I was at my familys home in the midwest this past weekend and their circular showed that $20 of these 3 brands had to be brought and mine at home shows that 4 Bounty or Charmin items must be purchased.
Also- this is not for ECBs but I learned my lesson- I planned my trip based on the circular from the midwest and learned that Chex mix are not on sale in my area of the country- SHOOT!

I do believe the reason the bandaids are ECBing for 3 is because it is in the monthly for 2 free and this week for 1 free so it is allowing 3 free.

Money Saving Mom here:
Actually, it's one deal, Kimberley--at least from what is showing up on the receipts. So it appears it's a limit of 3 all month long. But only time will tell! :)
Posted by: Kimberley | June 03, 2008 at 06:20 PM
I am in Raleigh NC and I got 4 oral b toothbrushes, 4 Listerine Smart Rinse and 3 band aids!! wahoo! Also, I used the B2G1 free oral b coupon and it also worked with the 2 pack! So I used ECBs to buy 2 and got ECBs for 3 back!

Okay, I'm a newbie, when you do multiple transactions, how do you do it? Do you leave the store and come back? Or do you just break it up? Is this how you use a 4/20 or 3/15 coupon more than once? Thanks!
Posted by: Kathryn | June 03, 2008 at 10:15 PM
One more question! If you stay at the store and break up your transactions can you use the ECB's you just earned from the previous transaction then and there? Or do you have to wait and come back and use them!

At CVS today, I bought THREE boxes of **60**-count plastic bandages, not the 40-count. The tag on the shelf listed the 60-ct. as the special. These were 1.99 each and I received equal ECB for all three.
I also am up to four bottles of Dawn dish liquid with ECBs.
Posted by: Margery | June 04, 2008 at 03:42 PM
I found the Malt-o-Meal cereal today, but the coupons are for a bigger size. Oh well, I had my hopes up for nothing! The boxes are only like 8-9 ounces.
