Hi Crystal!

I just started a blog and was thrilled to visit MoneySavingMom and see your post on this topic.

Thanks for all your great money saving strategies! I love your site.

~Anna

Crystal,
What blogging site do you use? I have only heard of Blogger but don't like the site name with "blogspot" in it.

Thank you so much, Crystal, for this series! I recently started a blog and am a stay at home mom. I would LOVE to be able to make a part time income from it, so this series is very helpful.

Thanks so much for writing this series! Its definitely motivated me to blog more and to try to make some extra-income!

What great timing, Crystal! I just started a blog so my family could keep up on the little activities my son and I do and also to "score" some great deals. I just started it for fun but I'm glad to see you are doing a series on how to possibly turn it into profit. I'll definitely consider it once I figure out how the blogging set-up works! :)

I love my blogging venture. I love the people I have met through blogging and the lives you get to share in.

Once you start a blog (and are consistent) you will be amazed at the connections you will make.

And the income ain't bad either ;)

This is such a wonderful series idea. I'm enjoying it. You are totally right about blogging faithfully to keep readers coming back. It also has to be interesting:) There are some blogs that hardly ever post, and I hardly ever visit them. On the other hand, I tend to visit yours two to three times a day because I know there will be new posts!

Bethany

Thank you for posting this! I've had my blog for a few months now but I still have to remember that posting regularly is important. When I don't post another installment of one of my series, my readers tend to get antsy lol. I sometimes forget that people do regularly check my blog and love new posts. Thanks for doing this tutorial, Crystal!

I blog almost daily and rarely skip a day. I hadn't really thought much about blogging for profit! Teach me your ways. :)

I'm hoping that one of the tips that you will share is how to get your site out there so that readers find it. I know that I have gotten some traffic since I started a little over a month ago, but how do I increase this. I haven't started any money making activity on my blog. Getting it started was a big first step for me.

Thanks so much for your series.

Crystal - I'd love to know about the troubles you had with spam and Blogger. That's what I've started with, but I don't want a nightmare!
Thanks!

Anna,

I use Blogger too, but I bought a domain name. It was $10 to set up my own url (without the blogspot stuff in it), and it was pretty easy.

Rebekah--if you don't want blogspot or typepad in your url, you will need to register a domain. (which you can do through google and blogger as well- it is $10 a year). If you go to your blogger dashboard, click the Settings tab, click Publishing there will be an option about redirecting it to a website. There will be a link to register one too if you do not have one yet. If you register a domain through that link, it will be configured to direct your blog to it.

I just set my blog up with a brand new url! www.womanlyexcellence.com ! :)

What a great series - I am really looking forward to the next posts!

What is a good way to get traffic on your blog? Any ideas?

Tomorrow will mark the third week since I started blogging! Its great fun and very rewarding.

This is just the encouragement I've been needing! I've been getting frustrated with a lack of traffic on my new blog. Thanks so much, Crystal!

Ooops. I had mistyped my URL.

I have a wordpress blog. I joined the amazon associates program but i can't seem to get my items to go on my blog. Does anyone have experience using the associates program on a wordpress blog?

also, if it is easier to use blogger or something else, how can I avoid losing a lot of readers (especially the feed readers)if I make a switch?

thanks!
