CVS: Deals for the Week of August 17-23, 2008
Here are the best deals at CVS this week, courtesy of Erin from CouponCravings.com. Be sure to visit her well-written blog for coupons, freebies, and her weekly $5 Charity Challenge. She also had a great post on saving on Back-To-School clothes this week.
Note: Be sure to look carefully at your CVS ad this week since CVS has changed the sale dates in several test markets, including Dallas/Ft. Worth. In these markets, the sale will run Friday-Thursday, rather than Sunday-Saturday. From what I hear, CVS plans to try this out for six weeks and then evaluate whether to apply these new sale dates nationwide.

Will your Extra Care account allow you to use the $2/$10 printable coupon more than once? Just wondering if it is flagged somehow before I try to use it a 2nd time.
Thanks!

Hi Crystal,
I wanted to remind your readers about the free item coupon that prints out at the register the first time you go to CVS each month. I keep forgetting about it. I usually only go once a month, and walk out with a coupon in my hand for a free item that will expire within a week!! I need to redeem the coupon when I receive it, because I won't return that quickly. I may not be the only one with this slip-up.

On the Crest toothpaste deal - my P&G coupon is for $1 off 2. Don't know if different regions got different coupons, but I thought I would mention the toothpaste being free after q's and ECBs might by YMMV.

The Revlon mascara is part of the BOGO at CVS this week. Buy 2, use 2 -$1 or $2 Revlon coupons (depending on what was in your newspaper a few weeks back), get $5 ECB - money maker!!
I was paid 49 cents to take 2 of them home! My sister had the $2 coupons and made nearly $2.50 to take 2 out of the store!

Here's my "plan" for CVS this week:
Three transactions
1-
Schick Quattro for women $7.99
$4/1 (sorry I don't keep track of where they come from)
$3.99 plus $5 ECB
Dove SkinVializer $9.99
$3.50/1
$6.49 plus $3 ECB
Total is $10.48
Use $2/$10 CVS plus $8 ECB = $.48 and $8 ECB (plus tax)
2-
I'll be using your Band-Aid/Johnson&Johnson/Neosporin deal with $2/$10 CVS plus coupons and $5 ECBs and Coupons to make it $.47 (plus tax) and get $5 ECB
3-
Crest/Oral-B deals
$1.99 each - Buy two of each with two $1/2 coupons
$4.96 plus get $4 ECB
Dove SkinVitalizer $9.99
$3.50/1
$6.49 plus $3 ECB
Total is $11.45, use $2/$10, $8 ECB
Pay $1.45 and get $7 ECB
Stared with $8 ECBs, I should end up with $7 ECB I think...and pay about $2.40 plus tax!
Thanks for all the tips!

I had a good CVS run this morning thanks to your jump start about the Crest toothpaste! Sadly, my coupon was a $1/2, not a $1/1 like it had said...oh well! I got two toothpastes, and 2 is better than 1 :)

p.s. Your comment section is weird...none of the boxes have labels. I'm having to guess which info goes where...just an FYI. Maybe it's cuz i'm using safari??

A lot of the scenarios use the $2/$10 coupon, however, I have seen on a few website's that CVS has legally requested these not be printed, and that the only legitimate coupons come from them by email to be printed. I didn't use them last week, does anyone have any credit to this statement, or had the coupons denied?

I made a profit of $4.70, getting razors, lotion, baby food, bandaids, neosporin...
and I had a great dumpster dive today as well! visit my blog for details and photos.

Does anyone know if the Schick Quattro Titanium deal is working for the Schick Quattro women's razors? I'm seeing several placing online claiming that the $4 Schick coupon from the 8/3 SS is working for the deal, but it seemed to me the offer was strictly limited to the Titanium brand.

The pepsi 12 packs are 4/$11 which is good to start with, but you can use your $2/$10 and get 4/$9. Ashley

The Oral-B Toothbrushes are the same deal as the Crest toothpaste... (I think you can buy one or the other)... on sale $1.99... $1 coupon... $1 ECB

I got some great deals at CVS, plus I picked 2 bushels worth of free apples for canning this weekend, and I did lots of dumpster diving!

Has anyone else had trouble finding the L'oreal coupon that was supposed to be in the RedPlum insert this week? My insert did not contain this coupon but it is listed in the CVS weekly flyer and at couponmom.com. Do they have different ads for different parts of the country?

Posted this already but had someone else link attached to my name.

I have not had any problems with using the $2/$10 coupon. This week, I used one to get the Children's Advil and two extra Sunday papers. I used $3ECB and $3oop but I got $5.79ECB back and LOTS of extra coupons to use.
I've got a couple of the better items up on my blog.

I've been CVSing for about 3 months now and had never seen the Beauty booklet that you sometimes mention until last week. I saw it on the counter near the entrance, for sale for 99 cents. Somehow I was under the impression that it would be free and I wonder if it's worth purchasing. Do you all find that it is? I get OK deals as it is, though I must say that often I don't have the deals at my store that you all mention.

Some sensational deals I found for this week!
Posted by: linda | August 18, 2008 at 10:43 AM
I was wondering if anyone has a copy of the CVS coupon policy. I went in this morning and used the listed deal for the J&J ECBs. Here is what I tried to buy:
2 Hello Kitty Bandaids @ 2.99 use 2 .50 cent coupons
1 Ultra Srip Bandaids @ 4.49 use $1 off coupon
2 Crest toothpaste @ 1.99 each use $1 off coupon
1 Tylenol @ 7.49
I was told that I could only use 2 same brand name coupons, so I could only use 2 of the band aid coupons. I asked if it was a store or corporate policy. I was told that a memo had just come from corporate because of people taking advantage of coupons.
I called the corporate office @ 800-746-7287 and was told that the corporate policy is 1 manufacturer coupon per item. I asked where I could find a copy of the written coupon policy (I looked online and it was not there). I was told that there wasn't one listed online and that since she was telling me that was the corporate coupon policy I had to take her word.
At the moment I am not a very happy CVS customer. I was just wondering if anyone else has run into this and if anyone has their actual coupon policy. Thanks!

I have CVS deals and a scenario up on my blog. I was able to work the BOGO Revlon into my scenario, including the Lash Fantasy Mascara that also gives $5 ECBs.
Posted by: Dana | August 18, 2008 at 11:55 AM
The Wet Ones at my CVS all had $.75 coupons on them. I bought 4. Used $2/10 coupon, and the 4-$.75 coupons and after the BOGO, the total was $1.06 OOP for 4 canisters of Wet Ones. I plan on going back to see if they have more canisters with the coupon, and if not, use the ones I have from the papers too.

I had the same problem someone mentioned above. I went into my regular CVS today to get 3 Puff's, 2 shave gels, 2 Buddie's soaps and a couple of other things. The cashier would only take 1 for the Puff's and 1 for the shave gels but both for the soaps. She had a misunderstanding of the wording "limit one coupon per purchase". I didn't have the energy to discuss the issue after dealing with the pharmacy (a whole different LONG story). I emailed customer service to explain the pharmacy problem and the coupon issue and asked for a clear coupon policy since one isn't posted on their website. It's a little aggravating though because I did another transaction for 2 neosporin's in the pharmacy when I finally got my sons RX and used 2 $1 coupons and had no problem...weird! I have never had a problem with CVS and coupons! We'll see what customer service has to say:)

Appreciate all you do to help us newbies! I have a question. Tonight I bought two of the Contour Meter/Colgate deals using a (2) Contour meter coupon(s) for the price of the meter (19.99), and two 1.50 off Colgate coupons with my 2 off CVS ones. I was tickled to get 10 ECB's back for @ 2.90 oop for tax. It paid for my milk and a few other things. BUT, I noticed that the meters both come with mail in rebates for the price of the meter. Hmmm. Would they still honor rebates for the price of the meters when I used coupons on them?

A few people have mentioned using the women's Quattro's on the deal, but I'm not sure if anyone has attempted this? They weren't tagged as being included in my store.
