A fun Target trip
I did a big grocery shopping trip earlier this week as I'd practically skipped shopping altogether last week since we were out of town for a few days. I'll share more about my great deals and bargains for Super Savings Saturday, but I wanted to go ahead and share my Target bargains in case it might help you in planning a Target trip.
4 boxes of Eggo BakeShop products priced at $1.50 each, used $1/1 coupons = $0.50 each after coupons
6 small cups of Edy's ice cream priced at $1.19 each, used $1/1 coupons = $0.19 each after coupons
2 boxes of Kashi cereal priced at $2.66 each, used 2 $1.50 coupons, $0.50/1 coupon, and B1G1 coupon = free plus $0.94 overage after coupons!
2 boxes Kashi cereal bars priced at $2.66 each, used 2 $1.50/1 coupons plus $1/2 coupon = $0.66 each after coupons
2 boxes Nexcare band-aids price-reduced to $1.77, used $1/1 coupons = $0.77 each after coupons
1 small bottle Renu contact solution priced at $1.54, used $1/1 coupon = $0.54 after coupon
All totaled, I paid just shy of $6 for everything pictured above.
I was especially happy to get 4 boxes of Kashi products plus all those other items for what you'd normally spend just for two boxes of Kashi products on sale. Hooray for coupons!
You can see the full list of all the deals currently available at Target right now here.

I love that autumn wheat kashi cereal!

You are such an encouragement! When you posted about the Eggo deal before, I drove to Target and made my sweet purchases. I was so pumped to spend so little! Thank you for all that you do!

Great Trip! I want a Target closer to me!!!! The closest one is an hour away... I guess I shouldn't whine, I have better stores than some people have!!!
Glad you got some great deals!

I know it is probably a pain for you to list your grocery transactions like this in such detail (especially with 3 little ones!), but I find it SOOOO helpful. It really "teaches" me how to use coupons to get the best deals. I would love it if you could do more posts like this. Thanks!

I love your posts! I went to target yesterday, 3 of my 4 target coupons wouldn't scan. I printed them in color and high quality. The cashier said if they wouldn't scan she couldn't take them, got home and e-mailed target. It said I need to call the 1-800 number, do you think it's worth it? I can't understand why they would offer coupons on their web site and not have the stores honor them? But I think the deals you got were great, kashi is the best, unfortunately for me I had to return my kashi stuff because the target coupons wouldn't work!
Posted by: Molly | July 09, 2009 at 12:03 PM
Wow, great purchase! Our local target would only allow the use of one ice cream coupon per transaction....
Posted by: Kathy | July 09, 2009 at 12:05 PM
This looks like an amazing trip! I am curious, though, why you didn't get the .50 strawberries?
Posted by: Honey | July 09, 2009 at 12:20 PM
It let me print the cereal coupon twice (the $1.50 one) but the cereal bar coupon one only printed once. :( So now I can't get that deal because the other coupon is for $1 off 2 but without the other coupon it will cost way too much. Bummer.
Posted by: Sarah | July 09, 2009 at 12:32 PM
The Edy's coupons you linked to say, "SuperTarget Coupon". Do you know if you can use them at a regular Target? Thanks for ALL of your help! You've saved us so much $$!!

You have a fabulous blog, and I love what you do, but as a veteran couponer I'm confused by what you say you did on the Kashi deal. It SOUNDS like you used FOUR coupons on 2 boxes of cereal and THREE coupons on two boxes of Kashi bars. I can't imagine that I'm reading that correctly, so I'm hoping you can explain more clearly.
**********************
Money Saving Mom here: Yes, you're reading that correctly. :) Target corporate coupon policy allows you to "stack" Target coupons and manufacturer's coupons. Meaning, you can use one store and one manufacturer's coupon on one item--which sweetens the deals incredibly many times!
Hope that helps!

Ah, I get it! Because we don't have a Target in my area, I momentarily forgot that Target offers store coupons, which they do accept in conjunction with mfr. coupons. That makes MUCH more sense. *Laugh*

I'm planning a Target trip tomorrow. I'm looking forward to some of these deals, too!

We don't have a super target, and our Target's frozen section is MINI!! BUT... Food Lion has the Egoo Bakeshop Mini muffin top chocolate chip variety on Closeout for 1.69....so .69 each after coupons!!

I am so not as good as you. I went earlier this week and now I am tempted to go back again! :)

Not sure if you were aware, but...
1) Kellogg's has their rebate promo right now on their website when you buy 10 Kellogg's products in 1 transaction (like the $0.50 for 1 Eggo Bake Shop after coupons) and get a $10 rebate, and a $70 coupon code for Dell.
2) There is a printable on coupons.com for $1.00/3 Haagen-Dazs 4 oz. ice creams, so you could get overage on that deal you purchased above.
Just a friendly FYI! :-)
********************
Money Saving Mom here: Yes, the rebate is great! I posted more details here on it:
http://www.moneysavingmom.com/money_saving_mom/2009/07/kelloggs-10-fuel-for-school-rebate-4-moneymaker.html
Also, unfortunately, I purchased Edy's ice cream, not Haagen-Dazs, so I could only use the Target coupons.

Hi. I am new to this and can not get anything to open coupons, I have tried firefox, windows, safari either it freezes and says your coupons are printing or is says my java script is not workig but I enabled it and it should work. I will print most but two it wont are the baked lays floating dollar and the trail mix for cvs. Any one else have this problem?
Posted by: tonya | July 09, 2009 at 01:45 PM
Wow, you did great! My Target has stopped taking internet coupons, even the ones off their own site!!! so it has become difficult for me to shop there as often.
Great deals though! :)

How can you use that many coupons for two boxes of cereal? Target's policy states one coupon per item, and one target coupon per item. Would LOVE IT if my Target did that!
*************************
Money Saving Mom here: You can use one Target coupon per item and one manufacturer's coupon per item. Thus, since I bought 2 boxes of cereal, I was able to use 4 coupons--2 manu. coupons and 2 Target coupons. Hope that helps!
Posted by: Melissa | July 09, 2009 at 01:59 PM
Are not supposed to usse only one Target printable coupon per transaction? If not then I have been doing it all wrong, but I thought the Target coupons said use only one.
*********************
Money Saving Mom here: It depends upon each individual store. Some allow you to use more than one of the same Target coupon in a transaction, others don't. Ours happens to allow it.
Posted by: Elizabeth | July 09, 2009 at 02:11 PM
How were you able to use the four different coupons for the two Kashi cereal boxes? I thought you were limited to one mfg coupon per item?
Posted by: Jaden | July 09, 2009 at 02:22 PM
Whoops scratch that! Just realized that two of them were Target coupons... MAN! I am so mad we don't have a Target near us... lol! Great shopping trip! :)
Posted by: Jaden | July 09, 2009 at 02:23 PM
I printed the target coupons and they say limit 1 per transaction. Did you have to do multiple transactions for all of the above?
****************************
Money Saving Mom here: Our Target store allows you to use more than one of the same kind of coupon per transaction. Some stores do, some don't. Since these are Target coupons, though, I personally believe it is up to the individual store to set the rules.
Hope that helps!

My Target shopping trip today was very similar to yours (mine didn't have bakeshop products though)...thanks for all the tips!
Posted by: Bridget | July 09, 2009 at 02:30 PM
The printable Target coupons for the Egy's say "Super Target" on them. Can they be used at regular Target stores too?
*************************
Money Saving Mom here: Yes, so long as your regular Target store carries the product and is willing to accept the coupons.

Wow ~ you really got some fantastic deals!! Now I can't wait to head out to Target this week! :)

Crazy good deal!
Posted by: Angela Russell | July 09, 2009 at 02:46 PM
Thanks for posting this. I was going to skip my Target trip this week as I my freezer is full of Eggo's from last week. However, I want to take advantage of the Kashi deals. So I'll be making a stop later.
Posted by: Sue B | July 09, 2009 at 02:47 PM
What order did u hand the coupon to the cashier? I have had problems with target in the past so I want to be prepared before I attempt this one.
Thanks

To Molly -- if my coupons won't scan at Target I've had luck bringing them to the customer service desk to get a refund after my transaction.
Posted by: Lucky | July 09, 2009 at 03:47 PM
love this deal i just did the same thing on the kashi, except i didn't have a 4th 1.50 off but still a great deal.
Posted by: jess | July 09, 2009 at 03:49 PM
How long is the kashi deal going on? Is it just until the coupons expire or is there a special sale running this week making it a better deal? I can't get there this week, but I'd love to get the deal next week if I can. (I have all the coupons.) Thanks!
********************
Money Saving Mom here: I'm not positive. I think it is just a weekly deal, but the price cut could be longer than a week. Anyone know?
Posted by: Lana | July 09, 2009 at 04:22 PM
BONUS: My Kashi Cereals each had $3 worth of coupons on them - $1 off frozen, $1 off cookies or crackers, and $1 off Kashi Vive or U Cereals
Posted by: LilKim | July 09, 2009 at 04:35 PM
The Kashi deals are for this week only...
Posted by: Vanessa | July 09, 2009 at 05:39 PM
I see the Hershey Bliss Target coupons now say "bagged candy" so they cant be used on the single candy bars anymore. Darn! But I am all for stores and manufacturers specifying sizes on their coupons so there doesn't have to be so much haggling at the check out. Thanks for posting these deals and coupons!
Posted by: CJ | July 09, 2009 at 05:50 PM
Geesh! You're good at this. Try as I might I rarely get this good of deals. Color me green.
Posted by: Lorie | July 09, 2009 at 08:35 PM
The cereal bars were 2.66 at your Target? Here in CT they were 2.50!
Posted by: M | July 09, 2009 at 08:40 PM
Has anyone actually been successful at finding a printable version of Target's coupon policy? It seems I encounter a different problem with each cashier, and even the managers don't seem to understand coupon basics (like using a Target coupon with a Manufacturer's coupon).
Posted by: Shannon | July 09, 2009 at 09:11 PM
You have really inspired me to try to get groceries at Target. I am really stock piling when I can. I went tonight and got 15 boxes of the Eggo Bakeshop and 4 boxes of Kashi oatmeal for $12 and change.
Posted by: Sarah | July 09, 2009 at 09:14 PM
thanks for sharing!
Anyone know what magic i need to do to get the kashi cereal coupons to print?
It keeps telling me to install the coupon printer and i did.
weirdness!
Posted by: Amy W | July 09, 2009 at 09:48 PM
You get some great deals at Target and I was just wondering if you go to a "Super Target" or a regular Target?
Posted by: Shannon | July 09, 2009 at 10:41 PM
i printed 6 coupons of edy's icecream, ran to target and found out they dont carry edy's icream in small size, grrrr, u know anywhere carry them?
Posted by: Vickie Le | July 10, 2009 at 01:15 AM
oh btw, i followed how you have shown me to get the kashi cereo...the b1g1 coupon worked, the .50 worked, only one of the 1.50 worked, oh well. still a good deal anyway. thanks :D
Posted by: Vickie Le | July 10, 2009 at 01:18 AM
2 boxes of Kashi cereal priced at $2.66 each, used 2 $1.50 coupons, $0.50/1 coupon, and B1G1 coupon = free plus $0.94 overage after coupons!
2 boxes Kashi cereal bars priced at $2.66 each, used 2 $1.50/1 coupons plus $1/2 coupon = $0.66 each after coupons
So when did it become legit to use multiple coupons on one item? I see you only bought 2 boxes of cereal but used 4 coupons? 02 boxes of bars but used 3 coupons. The coupons state 1 per item purchased. So I don't think this is honest sorry.
Posted by: guest | July 10, 2009 at 07:44 AM
thank you so much! i rarely go to target, but I love kashi products and ice cream (of course). i have been bragging about my $5 shopping trip. :)
Posted by: Tracy | July 10, 2009 at 08:08 AM
I don't understand how you got the icecream...did you do it in seperate transactions?
Thanks!
Posted by: Rachel | July 10, 2009 at 08:33 AM
is $1.50 regular target price on the eggo muffins? i thought they were more than that at our store. great shopping trip!
Posted by: jamie | July 10, 2009 at 09:43 AM
I tried using the B1G1 Kashi cereal Target coupon, but the cashier wouldn't give it to me b/c it says 'with the purchase of 10 oz. cereal'. Unfortunately, our Target doesn't carry any 10 oz. boxes, just 12 oz. Were you able to use this coupon on a 12 oz. box?
Posted by: Tiffany | July 10, 2009 at 01:13 PM
LOL - I just read through the whole comment thread. Funny how the same questions keep getting asked and answered over and over again. :o)
I've noticed that on a lot of the Target posts people ask for a copy of the coupon policy, or ask about how we can use 2 coupons for one item (mfg & store). Would it be possible to include that in the post, or provide a link to that information? Might help clear up some of the confusion for newbies.
BTW, for those who are asking: I e-mailed Target customer service to get my copy because you can't locate it on their website. I printed the e-mail and keep it in my coupon holder. I've had to use it a few times in the store, so it has come in handy!
I took a break from Target this week (I already used the Kashi coupons, or they must have expired on me as I can't find them or print them again), so I hope they have some good deals next week!
Posted by: Abby | July 10, 2009 at 02:57 PM
My Target would only take one coupon of any kind, and said they never have accepted a Target Q and a Mani Q (this is not the Target I normally go to, and as a result of the rudeness today, I will not go back to unless I have to). I will try it at my normal Target later.

Thanks for posting this!! I got the Kashi cereal bars tonight - they were on sale for $2.50/box! I got one box of apple and one box of strawberry! These will be great for a healthy snack!
