Chick-fil-A: Dress Like a Cow Day--share your pictures!

026

Today (Friday, July 10, 2009), is annual Cow Appreciation Day at Chick-fil-A. If you dress head-to-toe like a cow you'll receive a free combo meal at and if you wear a cow accessory you'll receive a free entree item. More details here.

Now for the fun part... Because I love Chick-Fil-A and because I like to keep things exciting, we're celebrating "Dress Like a Cow Day" here today. If you have a Chick-Fil-A nearby and you aren't ashamed of doing something a little goofy in order to get free food, here are the details:

::Dress up in some way, shape, or form like a cow. There are lots of ideas here and here to get your creative juices flowing. The only stipulation is that you use materials you already have on hand to make your cow costume; do not go out and buy something to make your costume otherwise it ruins the whole concept of the food being free! Get your whole family in on the act, if possible.

::Take pictures of your whole clan dressed up and ready to head out the door to Chick-fil-A. (Or get extra points for taking the pictures at Chick-fil-A!). Post pictures of your cow-adorned selves on your blog and leave your link below.

::Enjoy your free food, make an unforgettable memory with your children and/or friends, and have a blast while other people look at you like you've lost your mind. Oh the things we frugal folks will do when there is free food involved!

I can hardly wait to see what crazy costumes you all come up with!

Unfortunately, we don't have a Chick-fil-A here, but we went last weekend during our Kansas City trip, so I share a few pictures from that outing for our family's contribution to "Dress Like a Cow Day"!

I have been cutting out our cow spots! We are getting ready! Got to love free food!

My husband is at home sick today, so I've recruited him to make our costumes for tonight (poor guy)! =) We're going to Chick-Fil-A for dinner, then going to a movie dressed like cows! I'll try to post a picture tonight! Have fun, everyone!

My 1-year-old and I just got back from cow appreciation day. Chickfila is so wonderful that I don't even care if I look silly to get free food! :)

So fun!

We don't live near a chick-fil-a, but we happened to be visiting my parents who do! So we all got dressed up for some great FREE food! :-)

We just got home! We had a great time making the costumes and a wonderful meal! :)

took an old onesie the baby had stained up and colored spots all over it, attacked black construction paper ears to her little headband and she was set. My one year old had an old shirt that was fixing to be trashed due to stains and such, that also got colored with spots. I took white printer paper, cut out spots and taped them onto her black skirt, and black construction paper ears to her headband. Mommy wore a black and white polka-dot shirt, black pants with spots taped on, and construction paper ears on a headband. We rocked out!
Nothing like going and getting free food. I knew daddy wouldn't do this with us, so i took the girls while he was at work. Pictures will have to wait til next week as they took pics for us at Chick-Fil-A.

I so wish there were a Chic-fil-a somewhere near here!

Hey moneysavingmom, I noticed that you always dress your kids up real nice... You are not the type of person who'd spend fortune on your kids clothes, but i think you dress up your kids super cute on a budget.

No pictures (no blog!), but our whole family went and got 5 free combos. The boys and the baby looked especially cute!!!!

How cute!! I love CFA but we just ate there yesterday, so we didn't go today. LOVE all the pics!! Have you heard the song by Tim Hawkins about Chick-Fil-A?? It's hilarious!

I dressed as a Belted Galloway- I wore all black and made a "belt" of 8 X11 computer paper and a black tale from an old shopping bag. I wore the Chickfila cowface hat. No one in my office was surprised that I did it(but I didn't wear it after I ate)

We LOVE Chick-fil-A, so even though we had lunch there yesterday, we HAD to go back for free lunch today! :) We didn't get the best pictures of the kids' (or my) cow outfits, but we had a great time and can't wait until next year!

My sister and I made the trip in our cow get-ups! So much fun and well worth it!

Here are our pictures!

We had a great time. This is our second year and will definately be an annual tradition. We have to drive about 20 minutes to our closest Chick-Fil-A, but I was so excited to hear that one was coming to our town soon! We love it!

We went to one in Indiana today and received a six piece kids meal for each of my three boys for FREE! Yay!

These pictures are all absolutely adorable, loved seeing them :)

We had so much fun at Chick-Fil-A today!! It was a blast!!

Thanks for inspiring us! We had a blast and it was the perfect outing to allow my kids to take a friend...for free!:) It was hillarious--the woman in line behind me was not aware of the promotion and asked, "Is it always like this?" HAHAHA
Also, we shared our costumes with some folks in the praking lot who did not know about the promotion. Chikfila rocks the economy!!! LOL

We had so much fun at cow appreciation day. Can't wait until next year!

I so miss having Chick Fil A. :(

My 3 daughters and I and my 2-month old grandson got together in austin and made this a day-long event with buying the costume-making materials and making the costume and then taking lots of pictures and then posting them. we entered baby miles in the chick-fil-a photo contest. (please vote for "cuddle cow"). The cow mascot was at the restaurant and the manager took our picture and printed it out for us; then they gave us a little stuffed cow. We had so much fun!
